We’re Lisa and Will, just a couple who really enjoy traveling and exploring new places. While holding full-time jobs, we would take off out-of-town every chance we got. We started talking about what we wanted to do when we retire and the answer was, travel.
Will was able to retire at 51 and Lisa left the corporate world to join him and begin their journey.
Why Start A Blog?
We found that family and friends were curious about how we travel and wanted to know where we were going next and what we were doing. I’ve found that in planning some of our trips. I was relying more and more on the advice of various travel bloggers. I also noticed that probably 95% of those blogs are done by people in their 20’s or early 30’s. Whether they be couples or solo travelers. That got me thinking, hey what about the rest of us? What about those of us that are past the couch surfing days and won’t be running with the bulls as we are a little more concerned about our safety and well-being.
Our Travel Style
I would describe our travel style as eclectic. We have gone from tent camping in state parks to hotels; staying with friends and family; and vacation rentals. We tend to gravitate to what makes sense for our budget while still being able to stay in our desired area. So, no, we’re not going to tell you how to get to Machu Picchu for a dollar, while dodging train guards and rabid stray dogs. Nor are we going to give glowing reviews on our stays in the latest 5-star resort. However, if you, like us are wanting to go cheap when possible, but splurge for experiences, then this is the blog for you.
We like hiking and skiing, in general the great outdoors. We also take in concerts, shows, sporting events, or whatever else strikes our fancy.
We are not full-time travelers (at least, not yet), but we seem to always be going somewhere.
