You may have been wondering what we’ve been up to this summer, as nothing has been posted. We have spent the summer fixing up Ms. Wynn. Ms. Wynn is a 1984, 25 foot, Minnie Winnie, Class C, Recreational Vehicle. Yes, she’s a classic.
After putting on new tires, getting a little engine work done, doing a little remodeling on the inside, and running through the systems with needed new parts, etc. Will finally declared her ready for the road. So, off we went on her “maiden” voyage. We decided to park her at the Sky City Casino RV park in Acoma Pueblo. It’s only about 60 miles from us, but we thought it would give us a chance to get familiar with Ms. Wynn. It also was a good base for some of the other exploring we have been wanting to do of the surrounding area.
The RV park is nothing special. No shade or picnic tables, however the full hook-up rate was really inexpensive and gave us convenint access to I-40. If you get a player’s card (just have to sign up, it’s free), the nightly RV rate is $16.50. So, I signed up for the card and got $10 in free play at the casino. We gambled my $10 free play and I ended up walking out with $7 in cash. Win. Win.
For dinner the first night, we opted for the casino restaurant. We had a decent meal with a bottle of wine for $26. I know, crazy, right? Made sure to get my “senior” discount as well. Most of the casino’s here in NM classify those of us 50 and over as seniors.
The sites at the RV park are all pull-through gravel and fairly level. There are restrooms and showers available as well. They also give you a number to call and will shuttle you over to the casino from the park. You get use of the pool and hot tub area at the hotel. That was so refreshing after a day of hiking.
Shadow is really enjoying Ms. Wynn as well. He’s got his spot
All in all it was a good maiden voyage. There’s still some things we’re learning and some other items that aren’t quite working yet, but we’re hoping to have those issues ironed out soon.
